INDIVIDUALISED ACTIVITIES

Individualised Activities

Programs will be developed after consultations with the family members, house supervisor and key worker to gain an understanding of the participant’s likes and dislikes. The program will work alongside current routines and support needs, including meal times, toileting, pressure care and medication schedules.

Examples of the types of activities that you could participate in as part of the program include:

  • Going for walks to appreciate the sights, smells, sounds and textures in the environment
  • Art and craft to have a sense of achievement and participate in different sensory experiences
  • Pampering and relaxation sessions utilising music, lights and oils
  • Outings promoting social inclusion

Ratio of support workers to participants will be dependent on each individual’s funding, as stated by NDIS.

Weekly schedules will be adapted to include different amounts of activities for each individual, based on their levels of fatigue, their enjoyment of social interaction, pressure care requirements and health needs.

Weekly reviews will be undertaken regarding the participant’s enjoyment of their completed weekly schedules and alterations will be made to ensure that the program is reflective of their interests and activity tolerance. The schedules will alter every week to incorporate a range of different activities.
