LEGENDS AFTER-SCHOOL GROUP

Legends Group

Legends is an after-school neurodiversity-affirming group for primary aged NDIS participants to support social connection. Participants will practice skills that builds on their current strengths and will focus on communication development, self-advocacy, problem-solving, and observing personal boundaries and perspective taking.

The group is overseen by an Occupational Therapist and conducted by a Creative Arts Therapist and Disability Support Facilitators.

Children will be picked up from their primary school and taken to the Function Centre. Children will have afternoon tea and some time to shake the after-school sillies out, before they will be broken into small groups to complete different activities.

The activities are conducted in small groups of 3 to 6 participants. The ratio of Disability Support Facilitator to participant will be 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4, depending on your child’s funding and the activity they are participating in.  Children are then picked up at 5.30pm.

Activities will include:

- Circus skills

- Movement/music

- Games

- Arts & Crafts

- Sensory Play

- Lego

- ... other topics of interest!
