Legends Group
Legends is an after-school, neurodiversity-affirming therapy group designed for primary-aged NDIS participants. It focuses on activities tailored to each child’s unique goals, building on their strengths and fostering personal growth. The program promotes self-expression, emotional regulation, and social connection, equipping children with a toolbox of practices to help them navigate their world with confidence.
Each session integrates movement, art therapy, sensory play, and mindfulness, providing a holistic approach to development. The group is supervised by a team of professionals, including a Creative Arts Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Disability Support Facilitators.
Sessions are divided into small groups of 3 to 6 participants, ensuring personalised attention and meaningful interaction. This structure nurtures a sense of belonging, fosters emotional growth, and helps participants develop social bonds through shared experiences.
Activities include:
- Circus skills, movement, and music – promoting coordination, creativity, and fun
- Engaging games – fostering teamwork, communication, and problem-solving
- Arts and crafts – both individual and collaborative, encouraging creativity and self-expression
- Sensory experiences, including taste testing, aromatherapy, tactile activities, visual stimuli, and sound exploration, crafted to either soothe or energise while enhancing sensory awareness.
- Breathing and mindfulness practices
– to cultivate emotional regulation, relaxation, and focus.
